MUSIC TO SCROLL BY: The Theory of Everything soundtrack

We’ve been loving this year’s crop of Oscar-worthy soundtracks, especially Interstellar (Hans Zimmer), The Imitation Game (Alexandre Desplat) and The Theory of Everything (Jóhann Jóhannsson), but this track (number 17: Camping) from The Theory of Everything is my absolute favourite.

It’s only very short but it makes me tear up a little each time I hear it. I think it’s because it’s both about the music (the cello) and the sentiment (lovers uniting after years of longing).

Do take a moment to play it, as well as the rest of the soundtrack. It’s by Jóhann Jóhannsson.

LUSCIOUS AT THE MOVIES: The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel – official trailer

PHOTO: The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2015

LUSCIOUS AT THE MOVIES: So they’ve done a sequel to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel called – not surprisingly – The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

All the cast are back, with the addition of Richard Gere, Tamsin Greig and one of my personal faves, David Strathairn.

It’s due to be released in the UK in February 2015. Here’s the trailer…

LUSCIOUS AT THE MOVIES: The “other” Saint Laurent film trailer with Gaspard Ulliel as Yves Saint Laurent

 Sorry, no English subtitles!

It’s odd seeing this trailer, having recently watched the rival 2014 Yves Saint Laurent movie starring Pierre Niney and Guillaume Gallienne, as YSL and Pierre Berge respectively. Read more about it here.

This alternate film, called simply Saint Laurent, is due for release in September. It’s co-written and directed by Bertrand Bonello, and starring Gaspard Ulliel as Yves Saint Laurent, Jérémie Renier as Pierre Bergé and Louis Garrel as Jacques de Bascher. Read more about it here.

Are you so devoted to fashion that you will see both? I know it sounds a bit silly when they look identical, but I probably will!

LUSCIOUS AT THE MOVIES: The new “Grace of Monaco” trailer

Here’s the new trailer for Grace of Monaco film starring Nicole Kidman as Princess Grace and Tim Roth as Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, directed by Olivier Dahan and written by Arash Amel. Learn more from Wikipedia and IMDB.

Will you watch the movie when it comes out? I’m divided. I love all-things Grace Kelly but don’t love Nicole Kidman.

Luscious at the movies: Carine Roitfeld – Mademoiselle C documentary film

Carine Roitfeld

Fashion lovers should check this out: There’s a new doco coming out in 2014 called Mademoiselle C about former Vogue Paris editor (succeeded by Emmanuelle Alt) and fashion icon, Carine Roitfeld, following her around as she creates a new magazine called “CR”.

Sounds like The September Issue but with a Parisian backdrop, coffee and croissants, and Audrey Tautou cycling “Amelie” style through the occasional scene. Fab!
