A LUSH LIFE: Gin masterclass at the Bass & Flinders Distillery, Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula

LUSCIOUS ACTIVITIES: Gin Masterclass - Bass and Flinders Distillery in Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula

Luscious ones, today we did a gin masterclass at the Bass and Flinders Distillery in Red Hill, near our new home.

Our thanks to our hosts, co-owners Wayne and Janelle, and to our fellow gin lovers, Helen and Gary who shared the class with us. Thanks also to co-owner Bob for being my go-to organising guy.

We loved seeing the gin-making process and getting to create our own, and we look forward to receiving our own branded bottle – so fab!

Do bookmark Bass and Flinders Distillery if you’re on the Mornington Peninsula as it’s a really great addition to our little part of the world.

They also make vodka, limoncello and grappa, I believe, and I got to taste their version of a cognac (which has recently become my new favourite drink) which is called an aged grape spirit. More from their Ochre Spirit website.

(Remember that with cognac, like champagne, a drink cannot be named after that French region unless it is actually made there, hence “Australian sparkling wine”.)

Great to see another luscious Australian venture, and we wish the team all the very best!

See more via their website here.

Natasha xx
